What is the purity of SS-31?
SS-31 is supplied at a HPLC-tested purity of 99%+ (HPLC, third-party tested). Each batch is independently analysed and a Certificate of Analysis (COA) is available on request.
How should this product be stored?
Store the lyophilized vial refrigerated at 2–8 °C and protected from light. After reconstitution, keep refrigerated and use within 2–4 weeks. For long-term storage of unreconstituted vials, -20 °C is recommended.
Is a Certificate of Analysis (COA) available?
Yes. A batch-specific third-party COA (HPLC purity, mass spectrometry) is available for every lot. Send us the batch number on your vial and we email the COA the same working day.

Research Overview
SS-31 is a small, cell-permeable aromatic-cationic tetrapeptide that selectively concentrates in the inner mitochondrial membrane by binding cardiolipin, a phospholipid essential to cristae architecture and electron transport chain organization. By stabilizing cardiolipin-cytochrome c interactions, it is studied for its ability to preserve mitochondrial cristae structure, improve ATP synthesis efficiency and reduce excess reactive oxygen species production. Research applications focus on models of mitochondrial dysfunction, including age-related bioenergetic decline, ischemia-reperfusion injury and organ-specific oxidative stress.
